Outlook - Hotmail Setting

Email Setting
Your Name : xxx
E-mail Address : xxx.hotmail.com

Account Type : POP3
Incoming mail server : pop3.live.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) : smtp.live.com

Username : xxx@hotmail.com
Password : xxx

Remember Password = checked
Require logon using SPA = checked

My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication = checked
- Use same setting as my incoming mail server

[Advanced]
Incoming server (POP3) : 995
This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) = checked

Outgoing server (SMTP) : 587 or 25
Use the following type of encrypted connection : TLS

Why Yahoo Did not receive email

I try to send using my Outlook with hotmail account to my yahoo email. Not sure know why, the yahoo email did not received the email send from my Outlook.

At first I suspect my Outlook SMTP server port is not correct, but I try send a loop back email to own account, it was OK.

Then luckily I check the Yahoo mail setting at OPTION. There is an Advanced Option setting for "Blocked Addresses". I then try to remove the hotmail.com from "Blocked Addresses. Retry again from Outlook and finally, I manage received the email.

DAQ - Common Mode Noise

Common mode noise happen when the ground potential between the measuring instrument and the device being measured are different. The ground potential will result in ground loop and a current flowing through ground and the low lead.

Experiment Example 1:
Hardware
DAQ-2206 x 1, PS-24V, PS-12V, resistor divider.

Procedure
  1. PS-24V and PS-12V supply voltage to resistor divider, then measure the voltage across the resistor using Differential Mode.
  2. First without AIGnd and check the reading
  3. Second with AIGnd and check the reading


 Result
  • Without AIGnd, reading unstable.

  • With AIGnd, reading stable


Experiment Example 2:
Hardware
HSL-AI16AO2 x 2, PS-24V, PS-12V, resistor divider.
 
Procedure
  1. PS-24V and PS-12V supply voltage to resistor divider, then measure the voltage across the resistor using Differential Mode.
  2. First without AIGnd and check the reading
  3. Second with AIGnd and check the reading
 Result
  • Without AIGnd, reading unstable.

  • With AIGnd, reading stable


Summary
In differential mode measurement, if AIGnd are not connected to common ground between measurement instrument and devices and common mode noise occur, reading will be unstable. Hence require to connect the AIL to AIGnd to common ground between them.
